There are a lot of firsts for me with this advent calendar: my first bareMinerals product has arrived! A rather small tube of primer, but I’m looking forward to trying it nonetheless. There are a lot of claims on the box, but the first one I see is that it smooths away dryness. I have dry skin, especially at this time of year, so some extra hydration won’t go amiss!

bareMinerals website description: A foundation primer developed to address flaky dryness, fine lines, excess oil, and enlarged pores. This mineral-infused formula glides on with no tacky feel to provide a skin-smoothing complexion prior to applying bareMinerals Foundation.
What it is: Enlarged pores. Uneven texture. Flaky dryness. We’ve all had complexion problems. That’s why we created Prime TimeTM, which prepares your skin for seamless coverage with bareMinerals Foundation. Apply it first for the smooth, evenly textured complexion you’ve been waiting for. First Impressions: The clear gel has the feeling of a typical silicone primer. It is slippy and leaves the skin feeling smooth. It has little to no scent. I am interested to see how this performs under foundation as it has no tack, which is what usually helps to keep foundation secure on the face. Hopefully this primer will have the pore-filling properties it suggests, as I do have enlarged pores on my cheeks.
